Boys and Girls Club of Elma, Marilla, and Wales was chartered by the Boys & Girls Club of America in 1974. The Club's first Executive Director was George Roberts, and the Club was located in the basement of Iroquois School. In 1998, the Boys & Girls Club of EMW launched a 1.2 million-dollar capital campaign to raise the funds needed to move out of the Iroquois school’s basement and build the Club’s own facility. Thanks to the overwhelming support of the community, the Club's new facility at 2080 Girdle Road in Elma opened just two years later. The new facility provided a safe and welcoming space for children and teens to participate in a variety of programs and activities. With a gym, game room, arts & crafts room, computer lab, and outdoor recreation area, the Club was able to expand its offerings and serve even more young people in the area.
